Homemade Cinnamon Raisin Bread, and Butter

068

I made cinnamon raisin bread, and butter, from scratch today. It was super easy. My Kitchen Aid did all the work for me, and all I had to do was keep an eye on it. I love to knead dough by hand, but I’ve been unable to do it since my surgery. I’m just glad to have homemade bread (hot from the oven – yum!) on my table again.

I was inspired here and here. I used my own bread recipe (which I’ll share soon), but followed the instructions for making a cinnamon raisin version. And I made my butter a little differently, too. Seemed like more than my neck could take to shake a mason jar for that long! The cream whipped right into butter using my Kitchen Aid’s whisk attachment. It took about 30 minutes, though. So be prepared to wait! But it is oh-so worth it.

I keep reading so many blog posts about making butter these days, and I really want to give it a whirl. Or a shake, as is more apt. :)

Ria, it is so easy. It makes me wonder why I waited so long to try it. You can also make it in a food processor if you have one. But lots of people just put their cream in a mason jar and shake.

That bread looks delicious with the butter melting into it!!! I've made butter using my bread making machine, the butter milk that was left was lovely too. I can't knead bread because my hands get painful so the bread maker is great for me.
